Between the 22nd and 24th February 2023, partners of the L’inclusion sociale project met in Comănești, Romania, for the fourth transnational meeting.
During these days, partners held the fourth seminar on the “Social, educational and professional inclusion of children and young people in child protection”.
This time, the seminar focused on the so-called “Children of the street”, which are those “children for whom the street” has become home and/or their source of livelihood, and who are inadequately protected or supervised.
Each partner presented the specificities of this phenomenon in their respective countries. They discussed the definition and characteristics of street children and their social and geographical origins.
The phenomenon’s causes, consequences and responses that local communities and the EU could provide. Moreover, partners visited several centres in the province of Bacau, Romania, that host and provide services to those children and their relatives who are vulnerable and are at risk of living on the street.
