IRSEI ETS celebrates the European Week of Sports 2024 through its Erasmus Sport projects!
Within the framework of the European Week of Sport, the activities and objectives of the RS4Women project come into focus, bringing together three international partners united in the promotion of sport in all its forms, with a special focus on activities for women aged 18-35 and women over 60, who face greater barriers to integration.
The activities of the project continue unabated and align themselves to this celebratory Week, established to highlight the importance of regular physical activity in preventing illness and improving quality of life, also focuses on inclusion, demonstrating how sport becomes a tool for breaking down cultural and social barriers and promoting unity.
Sport has always united people, boosting participants’ confidence and self-esteem. One of the key goals of the RS4Women project is indeed to celebrate the quality of social connections and reduce social isolation and feelings of loneliness through a variety of sports activities, including:
- Wellness courses
- Coastal rowing courses
- Pilates courses
- Swimming courses
The project’s activities are implemented in collaboration with Altinboynuz Sports Club (Istanbul, Türkiye), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Thessaloniki, Greece), and IRSEI ETS (Palermo, Italy), and aim to promote health-enhancing physical activity among women, and as mentioned, aligning with the objectives of the European Week of Sport. This Week of Sport is promoting sports activities all over Europena countries, highlights the importance of physical activity to improve both mental and physical well-being, encouraging participation at the local and community level.
